What is MobileXpression?

Download the MobileExpression app to allow it to record and collect information about your mobile data usage, or if you're using an iPhone or iPad, through a VPN connection. In exchange for this passive data collection, you can automatically earn Amazon gift cards for keeping the app installed.

App Details

Data passed through the app may include mobile web browsing activity, usage and titles of downloaded applications and files as well as usage of cameras, video streaming and other utilities on the mobile device. The software may also collect information regarding the web pages you view, the links you access, and usage times for certain device activities (e.g., text messaging, call lengths, and web browsing).

The app requires less than 100KB of memory to store the research software and 128KB to store the collected data before it is encrypted and securely sent to the MobileXpression servers. It should not have any affect on your phone's performance.

Run the App Without Interference

The MobileXpression app runs in the background on your devices and should not interfere with your phone or tablet. The app's main purpose is to collect data on internet surfing habits.

Take the Occasional Survey

Panel members of MobileXpression may be invited periodically to take mobile surveys to help with better understanding some of the rationale behind internet mobile surfing trends.

Is Mobile Expression Safe?

MobileXpression is a safe app to download to your devices. It runs in the background and its access to what's on your phone is very limited (as per below). The app should not interfere with regular usage of your phone, however as it does act as a VPN, some users have reported connectivity issues with their devices after downloading the MobileExpression app. These issues seem to resolve after uninstalling the app, so although the app appears safe to use, as with many apps, your success using it may vary.

Privacy is Important

Mobile express takes the privacy of their panel members very seriously. Other phone activities such as calls, text messages, photos or contacts are not accessed by the application. In addition, all of the information is pooled into anonymous data storage, so the webpages you access will never be linked back to your profile.

Eligibility: International members accepted, must be 18+ and have a mobile device that is compatible with the mobile application and have access to the internet.

I've been with mobile expression for over a year and have had nothing but problems with them,their software DOES interfere with the performance of my brand new device although they state in their FAQs that it doesn't and tons of my reward points keep going missing! (5/6times in recent months numerous points have gone missing,they've refunded some but I'm STILL missing points!) I've just had my latest reply from them regarding their messed up software suggesting I delete their software although I'm literally a few points short of collecting a reward! (dreadful support service who are clueless and can't be bothered fixing big problems with their software) which is disgusting considering their software HAS effected my device severely!

One of the worst survey app I have ever used. After installation for a month, they just want the app to run in the background which i did.
And later they drop me an email that my account has been canceled, such an unprofessional behavior.

I signed up to this panel via another referral from SwagBucks that I naively accepted. However, due to the same privacy concerns that stopped me downloading software from Permission Research (a sister company to MobileXpressions), I never downloaded their software to my phone and tablet.

Apart from my concerns about exactly what data would be shared, I found that they also have the same very user-unfriendly terms of use that Permission Research have e.g. here's an extract from one of the disclaimers: "UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL OUR COMPANY, ITS SERVICE PROVIDERS OR AFFILIATES, OR ITS PARTNERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES THAT RESULT FROM THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE PROGRAM, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES RESULTING IN ANY WAY FROM THIS PROGRAM."

In other words, if their software screws up your device or data then you're on your own! The full privacy policy and terms and conditions can be found on their website.

Disclaimers are part and parcel of many software applications, of course, but I really don't like the restrictions and disclaimers in this particular case - especially when it involves monitoring my usage and transmitting the data out of my phone/tablet.

That's why I've decided to have nothing more to do with this survey panel. Whether you use them or not is up to you, but at least I've drawn attention to some of the drawbacks so you can decide for yourself.

Installed the app and did everything they asked, enduring battery drain for months until I earned enough for a £10 Amazon voucher. Requested payout, and checked my account a month later to find it was suspended. No e-mail informing me of this, and the app was still running on my device. I e-mailed them, and weeks later they accused me of not following the rules. How is that even possible, when all they want you to do is to leave the app running in the background? Never received my payout.

I downloaded the app and did everything required, received 15 credits worth a £10 gift voucher. I ordered the voucher and not a few hours later my account was locked. In reply to this they stated i had not met the required criteria and so my order was canceled and my account closed. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
