In July 2018, AIP Online Surveys rebranded itself as Rakuten Insight.

Rakuten Insight is an online survey panel where consumers can voice their opinions to private companies, government organizations, academic institutes in exchange for cash and gift cards. Panel participants help Rakuten advise on the development of better products and services.

Join to Take Surveys

Signing up to take surveys with Rakuten Insight, is as easy as filling out the registration form. Once complete, you will be sent online surveys to fill out. Multiple users from the same household may register, however every person will require their own separate e-mail address to register and accounts cannot be shared.

Take Surveys, Earn Rewards

Rakuten Insight awards points for every survey completion. Point amounts will vary based on the content, the number of questions and the length of each survey. If you are prematurely booted from a survey (because it has since closed, due to a technical glitch, etc.), you will still be awarded with 5 points. Accumulated EPoints can be redeemed for cash or vouchers, with reward options varying by country.

Gift Card Options

In the USA, you can opt to redeem your Rakuten Insights survey points for Amazon gift cards. Just 500 points is needed for a $5.00 e-gift card which will be e-mailed. For residents of India: redeem your EPoints for your choice of an Amazon e-voucher, Flipkart online voucher or Lifestyle online voucher. Just 100 EPoints (worth Rs. 100) is required for your first redemption.

Get Cash for Surveys

If you'd like to receive cash payments for competing surveys with Rakuten Insight, a few different options are available:

• PayPal payments - redeem your points for a cash payment made to your Paypal account with just 500 Epoints (worth $5) in earnings. Available in the USA.
• Paytm payments - get paid by Paytm, with just 100 EPoints (Rs. 100) in your account. Available to members in India.
• Venmo: Venmo cash payments are available in select countries. A minimum of 500 points is required.

Redeeming Rewards

Rewards can be redeemed from the 'Point Shop' page. Follow the instructions to redeem your points at any time for rewards (provided you have enough). Note that the email you use to sign up for Rakuten Insights surveys must match the email used on your PayPal or Venmo account in order to receive a cash payment without issue. Payments are usually issued in batches - typically, once per month.

Rakuten Insight App

Users with Android devices can opt to download the Rakuten Insight app on their mobile phone, which can make it easier to take surveys as they become available. Use the app to not only take surveys directly from your phone, but to also see all surveys available in your account and to cash out your points for rewards. The app is currently not available to iOS users.

Survey Frequency

Although the number of paid surveys invitations you receive will vary based on your demographic information, the more complete and up-to-date your profile is, the more likely it is you will receive surveys to complete. Survey lengths vary from just a few minutes to up to half an hour and can be taken on your desktop computer or mobile device.

Refer Friends for Bonus Points

Depending on your country, you may be able to refer your friends and extended family members to the program in order to earn bonus points. You can invite as many friends as you'd like, but you will only receive bonus points on the first 10 members per month that you refer. Your unique referral link is available in your account under the Invite & Earn page. At any time, you may view your bonus points credits for referrals under the 'Awarded' tab.

Is Rakuten Insight Legit?

Rakuten Insight is a legitimate online survey panel and is not a scam. It is a real survey site and is not fake, as Rakuten Insight has been a pioneer in online marketing research in Asian since 1999. As with any survey program, users may have different experiences as members, but the Rakuten Insight panel is legit.

Eligibility: Anyone 16 years and older from the following countries may join: Australia, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom, USA, Vietnam.

*UPDATE* that is not about my profile if you get me right. I have wasted an hour to do 2 surveys to 100% on your site and i didnt my credit, you just screen me out and only gave me 2 credit in the end. Why dont you just screenout in the beginning and wasting ppl time. And your customer service just replying same thing and no credit added back. I am sure I got this problem on your site often.


Low paid and their customer service are useless. Done 2 survey get screenout at the end, They only added 4 credit (less than 0.1usd) to me and I have wasted an hour.

Unfortunately, we have discovered evidence of engagement in one or more acts prohibited by the Member Agreement you accepted at time of registration.
We are not obligated to disclose which prohibited act(s) were committed.

Your account will no longer be invited to participate in surveys, any points you have accrued are forfeit, and any pending exchange requests will be cancelled.

Please refer to our complete Member Agreement here if anything is unclear.
In particular, Section 5 outlines prohibited acts.

Pros: there are almost always multiple "open" surveys on the site at any given time, even if you don't get an email invite.

Cons: Maybe one out of FORTY or FIFTY surveys will earn you points. Almost all of them are "click here to start survey" and then straight to "finish", and you'll get one point. Some of them you won't even get one point. More than half of the surveys "points will be distributed later" or "points will be awarded within 8 weeks". Rewards are paid out once a week, so you might have to wait a while to get your measly five bucks (500 points). It can take anywhere from a week to ten weeks to amass 500 points. Oh, and my saved login credentials never take the first time, even though they autofill.

Ask for rewards and they say no because you have not been honest and then tell you that your reward has been forfeited.

Went to redeem my points for a gift card, but got the message "We’ve detected suspicious behaviour on your account and are unable to process your request at this time."
Through the Inquiry feature on the site (took me FOREVER to find it; I don't think they want you to find it because they really don't care about helping you), I asked them what was going on.
They emailed me back and told me that I "engaged in one or more acts prohibited by the Member Agreement" and that my account "will no longer be invited to participate" and "points accrued ar forfeited".
I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong, and I was told they "are under no obligation" to let me know what they felt I did was so "suspicious" and/or "prohibited".
I only had enough points for a $10 payout, but that's beside the point. To be blindsided by a notification that I did something "suspicious", "prohibited", or otherwise "fraudulent" is INSULTING, to say the very least.
All of that aside, some of the surveys I was invited to would have me answering question after question after question, and I would get ZERO points. They couldn't be bothered with giving me even ONE measly 'thanks for participating' point.
Scr^w Rakuten. They can roll up their gift cards and cram 'em sideways.
