AskingCanadians is a research community that allows you to share your opinion about numerous leading Canadian brands. Share your input on consumer products and in exchange you will receive your choice of exciting gifts.

Unique reward options

Established in 2005, AskingCanadians allows members to earn their choice of HBC Rewards points, Aeroplan Miles, Petro-Points or Via Rail Preference Points. You can also choose AC points, which can be redeemed for Amazon eGift cards. Members must earn points towards one chosen reward brand, but this can be changed. Points collected can also be used to enter into lucrative prize draws through the AskingCanadians website. If you do not qualify to complete a survey, you will still be entered into a draw to win a “thank you” reward for your time.

Survey redemption

Each survey will alert you to the exact quantity of points (from your chosen reward category) you will receive or if you will be eligible to win a reward for participating in the survey. Most rewards from AskingCanadians take within 2-4 weeks to appear in a users account. The quantity of the reward given from surveys taken depends on two factors: urgency and length of survey. If you decide that you would like to receive an Amazon eGift card, you will need to earn 500 points (the equivalent of $5.00). At the end of each month you will receive an e-statement from Asking Canadians that will showcase your points balance.

Get bonus points for joining

Occasionally HBC or other partners will team up with AskingCanadians to offer bonus points after joining the panel and taking a couple surveys. For instance, HBC will e-mail HBC newsletter subscribers giving new potential survey takers the opportunity to earn 500 bonus HBC points for joining AskingCanadians and completing two surveys with them.

AskingCanadians is open to all Canadians

This survey panel is open to residents of Canada only. No age restriction is needed to become a member, but individuals under the age of 16 must get a parent or legal guardian's permission to join. The amount of surveys varies significantly, and will depend on how often your unique characteristics match with the surveys on hand.

I answered surveys to get HBC rewards. It wasn't too bad at first it seemed, but the surveys were often quite long, and the most annoying part was when you get kicked after already having spent 5 or so minutes on the survey. I mean, they still get to ask you up 15 questions about actual products and then say "that's it for today" and you get practically nothing in return for spending your time.

I find that the profile must not be used as I have qualified for very few of these but at least I get 5 or 10 points not just a sweepstakes entry. I get points for doing a survey about 1 in 5 of those sent.. I am not sent that many and I seem to screen out sooner that on many other sites... so they are using a bit better screening... I have earned about $30 in Hudson Bay gift card $$'s in the last 18 months.. .down side.. you can not redeem on sale items or payment due. So make sure that the clerk redeems your points prior to totaling your purchases.

This company pays in air miles or Hudson's Bay rewards. As an example of their reward system, they've asked me to participate in a week-long panel, 5 minutes per day. They will give 500 Bay Rewards points. Sounds good until you realize this is equal to $2.50! I've done numerous surveys with them, and still haven't accumulated enough to redeem $5! I'm going to cancel my membership.

I generally like the surveys. I do find many of the questions repetitive. Also sometimes I start a survey and then find I'm not qualified or the quota has already been reached...which is annoying. This makes it harder to move up in rankings.

There aren't a lot but feel worth my time. And even if I don't qualify, I'm still rewarded for my time.
