If you’ve been taking online surveys for a while, you might have felt fatigued doing so. Perhaps you’ve spent a week taking as many surveys as possible, or you’ve been taking surveys for years and are starting to feel burned out. If this sounds familiar, here are a very a few easy tips that can be followed to fight the fatigue of taking online surveys.<\/p>\n

Vary Your Location<\/h2>\n

Where do you usually take surveys? At the desk in your home office? On the sofa while watching television? At the kitchen table? Having a regular routine for survey taking can be helpful for staying on task, but the same scenery day after day can also get tiring after a while. <\/p>\n

If you use a laptop computer to take surveys, mix up your daily routine by moving around. Take a few surveys from the couch, and then move into the living room for a little while. Then perhaps out on the patio for a few more. By changing your background every so often, your mind has a chance to feel refreshed and stimulated.<\/p>\n

Take Screen Breaks<\/h2>\n

\"20-20-20\"
\nStaring at a computer screen for an extended period of time can cause eye fatigue. Try to follow what eye doctors call the 20-20-20 rule. For every 20 minutes that you spend staring at the computer screen, you should pause and stare off in the distance at an object about 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds. <\/p>\n

By doing this, you are helping to relax the focusing muscle inside your eye, which can help with vision fatigue. Think you’ll have trouble remembering to do this? Just put a little sticky note on the corner of your monitor that reads “20-20-20” to remind yourself!<\/p>\n

Switch up the survey content<\/h2>\n

Taking many types of the same kind of survey one after the other is a sure-fire way to find yourself suffering from survey fatigue. Try to switch up the types of surveys that you take throughout the day to help keep your mind focused and fresh. If you’ve taken several long and involved product surveys in a row, switch over and find a music listening survey or a special assignment such as a focus group<\/a>, to give your brain something else to work with for a little while.<\/p>\n

Stand Up!<\/h2>\n

\"Stander\"<\/a>When you take online surveys, are you sitting down? Try standing up! Studies<\/a> have shown that sitting for prolonged periods of time isn’t good for your body. It can cause obesity, heart problems, increase the risk of Type II diabetes, and even shorten your lifespan! So by shifting yourself to a standing position for a few surveys, you’re doing your body a huge favor.<\/p>\n

There’s no need to go out and buy an expensive standing desk, either. If you’re using a laptop, some well-placed boxes or stacked shelves can double as a temporary standing desk setup. Just make sure to review these ergonomic guidelines to keep things positioned correctly.<\/p>\n

Try a New Survey Panel<\/h2>\n

Although it’s nice to be familiar with the way a survey panel operates, things can get a bit dry when they become predictable. If you’ve been taking surveys for the same few survey sites, why not try something new<\/a>? Every survey panel presents their surveys a bit differently, so even checking out different survey designs can be fun. Don’t want a big commitment? Try registering with a new survey sites that have low cash out minimums<\/a> (like $5 or $10) so that you won’t feel the need to be in it for the long haul if you end up disliking it.
