Collect Your Points

Most OneOpinion surveys pay the points equivalent of $1 to $5 ($1 = 1,000 points), so you’ll hit the 25,000 point threshold needed to start redeeming your rewards quickly if you are an active member of the panel.

When new online surveys become available, you'll be e-mailed a survey invitation which will state the topic of the survey, the number of points offered for completing it, as well as the approximate time it'll take to complete. Even if you end up getting screened out of a survey, One Opinion will still reward you with points! This will help you reach your rewards goals faster.

Earn Points for Disqualifications

If you get screened out or are disqualified from an online survey, OneOpinion will still compensate you. Earn up to 250 points per day (50 points x 5 disqualifications) for screen outs.

This was one of my favourite when stated out but how can they now claim to be a survey panel - you have to have surveys to complete to be regarded as such. Redemption limits are a clear attempt for survey panels to con people out of valid earnings - I now have many sites I just have given up on with quite sizeable balances on.

Alan,

Thank you for providing this feedback, and apologies for any negative experiences you are having with OneOpinion. All surveys come to us based on client need, and we are constantly working towards adding more surveys to our system every day. Depending on demographics, location, etc, there may be times where individuals receive fewer surveys. This can sometimes be compounded with the fact that we do have a somewhat smaller panel reach in the UK. We apologize for any inconvenience with this.

We certainly do want to be sure that any participant who has earned legitimate rewards with us receives their earnings. If you are close to cash out, and do not wish to continue taking surveys, please contact us via email at [email protected] so we can discuss potential alternative options for receiving what you've earned.

Terrible

December 17, 2018 by Angela from United States

When I first started, I noticed that about 95% of the surveys on this site took longer than they estimated. A survey described as eight minutes took approximately fifteen minutes or more on average. Worse, sometimes I spent approximately twenty minutes, provided a great deal of information - picture answering thirty questions about the food you feed your dog - just to be disqualified and not paid. They gather a LOT of personal information from you, though I can't say for certain that it is sold to telemarketers. However, I do get a great deal of calls that I have had to block since joining. To be fair, that could just be a coincidence.

After I had bit of money in my account, it was canceled. When I contacted OneOpinion, I was told that some third party survey companies had complained that they could not use my answers. Since my answers were honest and I always took my time to provide accurate information, I translated this to them not liking the truth as I saw it. Had a bad experience with your power company? Is the local shopping center that everyone visits as awful as the one in my town? Those were some of the types of surveys I completed right before they abruptly ended my membership. I did follow the rules, which are basically not to threaten anyone, rush through the surveys, or use profane language. Easy enough to comply. They did not inform me of what was going on; I just couldn't log in and contacted them.

I am now in the process of contacting the companies that I remember taking surveys about to inform them I won't be buying their products anymore. I cite OneOpinion as the reason why. I doubt many of them will care. However, I have been asked countless questions about my bank and stock brokers; pretty sure it will at least matter to them. Especially if I take my business somewhere else. In retrospect, I shouldn't have answered any financial questions anyway. That was simply wrong on my part, not OneOpinion's.

My recommendation would be not to even join this site. I earned a gift card or two, but it wasn't worth the time. If you do want to attempt this endeavor, please remember to contact them at any point where you feel you have spent a lot of time on a survey and not been paid. It happened to me a lot. If the virtual assistant feature can't help, you should take it to the next level and request an actual person to address your problems. This, at least, is pretty simple to do. You don't always get compensated for your time, but that had improved somewhat before I was "banned" from the site.

Thank you for taking the time to read my review and good luck.

Addendum: Another reviewer made very valid point. He stated that it was when he complained about not being compensated, his account was suspended. I wonder now if they canceled my account because I did begin to complain when an issue arose. I have no way of knowing for certain, but I now believe there is a direct correlation between asking to be given what is rightfully due to being suspended or banned from the site.

Hi Angela,

Thank you for your thorough review, we very much appreciate any and all feedback we receive, positive, negative or otherwise. We would like to extend our sincerest apologies for the issues you have experienced with the panel. This is certainly not the experience we want for any of our members.

I would first like to address your concern regarding survey lengths. The survey length estimates are meant to provide an accurate depiction of how long the survey should reasonably take to complete. There are times where these numbers may be skewed or off, and we are always sure to inform our project teams of this whenever it is brought to our attention. We also frequently provide additional credit if an extensive amount of time is spent on a particular survey. Nevertheless, we do understand the concern, and will continue working to ensure that our time estimates are accurate, and that members are rewarded accordingly.

There are many survey clients who implement "red herring" or attention questions, intended to ensure survey participants are paying attention and providing truthful quality data. In an instance where these questions are answered incorrectly, there is a chance the client will not be able to accept the collected survey data. We are always informed of this, and do our best to notify members on our end, encouraging them to read each question carefully and take their time when filling out surveys. If an excessive amount of surveys on an account receive this labeling, this may be something we have to investigate further on an account level.

If you believe any account holds to be unjust, we would always be more than happy to investigate further, or connect via email or telephone to discuss further. Please feel free to reach out if you find this warranted.

Thank you again for your time.

Beware - they will falsely accuse you and refuse to pay you

December 15, 2018 by Steven from United States

I've had this happen to me twice now. Most recently I got up to $27 and went to order a $25 Amazon gift card. The next day when I logged in it said the gift card was refunded. No explanation, no e-mail. So I asked about it. They said my account was "paused." No explanation. Finally I got an explanation - they accused me of "abusing their system" by reporting problematic surveys that had errors or didn't properly award points! Their system allows you to type in questions about recent surveys. It often gives full points for a survey, which seems fair if you've done an entire survey or a substantial portion of one, but the survey then inexplicably disqualifies you or fails to award points that would be a proper recompense for the time spent. One Opinion however thinks that if you use their customer service and report a problematic survey - and then their system automatically gives you points to make things fair - that you've "abused" their system! In other words they want you to not use their customer service to report these surveys (there are many), and object to their own programmed system making things fair. Unbelievable.

Hi Steven,

Thank you for providing your open and honest review. We always appreciate feedback from our members, be it positive, negative or otherwise. That being said, we are absolutely sincerely sorry for any issues you have experienced with the OneOpinion website. This is not an experience we want for any of our members.

Implementing our Emily virtual assistant involved a great deal of trial and error on our end. Namely, we needed to determine "smart" factors that Emily would consider when determining whether or not to credit points to an account. There are different elements that are analyzed here, with varying weights, that ultimately determine whether or not points are applied. If there is an excessive amount of crediting happening on an individual account, this is flagged in our system as something we need to look into more thoroughly. This does not in any way imply that we do not want members to use our available help systems. We simply want to be sure they are being used responsibly, and always working correctly.

With only your first name to go off in your Survey Police review, I am unfortunately not able to pull the exact specifics of your particular case. However, this is something we could certainly look into further if you would like to contact us. We can discuss via email at [email protected], or via a phone call. If you feel that you have been wronged in any way, this is absolutely something we would like to look into and rectify for you. No company is perfect, and I am certain there are instances where we have been incorrect in our account assessments.

Thank you again for your time.

No payment

October 26, 2018 by Gabriele from United Kingdom

Watch out, folks: I've had well over their required 25,000 points for weeks on end now, and they persistently refuse to pay out, giving all sorts of error messages. They cannot be contacted, either (save for computerized messages which, of course, are no good)... Hands off!

Very unhappy with my experience - Updated

October 13, 2018 by Andy from United States

It took a while, but I finally managed to accumulate over 25,000 points, which was enough to redeem. I submitted a redemption request, but about a week later, the points were returned to my account and I did not receive my reward. Now, whenever I try to redeem, I get an error message and the redemption does not go through. It seems that they froze me out shortly after I earned enough points to redeem.

Update - after posting my review I was contacted by an employee of OneOpinion and they told me that my account had been locked out because I had a VOIP phone number. Since then, I was able to get my account unlocked by changing my phone number. I have since modified my review, but I still think that much of my original complaint remains valid - I was never contacted or given any explanation for why I had been locked out, and the situation would never have been resolved if I hadn't posted about my experience here.

Update - September 2018 - They froze my account again with no explanation given. This is the second time this has happened with absolutely no reason given and nothing I did that should have led to this. At this point, I am giving up on this panel.

Hi Andy,

We apologize for any negative experience you have had with OneOpinion. The most likely cause for this scenario is some sort of account flag issue. OneOpinion uses a variety of tools and third party systems in order to properly identify our survey participants, and ensure quality data is being provided. There are cases where accounts can be flagged in error. We are always more than happy to look into these matters and get things squared away as quickly as we can.

Did you by any chance contact our member care team (either via Facebook, email, phone, etc)? If so, were they able to get your reward paid out to you? If not, please do let us know by writing in at [email protected] Attn: Alex P, and I will definitely look into this further and see what needs to be done to make this right for you.

RESPONSE TO SEPTEMBER UPDATE: We are very sorry to hear that you are continuing to have account issues. Have you contacted our member care department for further assistance with this? We would be happy to help in any way we can, as well as look into possible options for avoiding any account flagging issues in the future.

Best,
