Opinion Outpost gives everyday consumers the opportunities to participate in online surveys and product tests in exchange for cash rewards and gift cards.

Signing up is free and to do so, simply enter your name, date of birth, zip code and email address on the registration form on their website. After that, you’ll be prompted to confirm your email address before you’re able to begin answering surveys.

Take Surveys and More

Once you've fully registered, you’ll see a “Surveys” link on your main account dashboard. This will take you to your list of available surveys. You can choose to have surveys emailed to you if you prefer.

You also have the option to add additional information (via profile surveys) to help Opinion Outpost match you with more relevant surveys to you.

You don't have to wait long to get rewarded - if you take a survey worth 50 points, you'll already have enough to redeem a $5 Amazon.com gift card. The following reward options are offered on the site in exchange for participating:

• PayPal payments - with only 100 points (worth $10/£5), you can request that a PayPal payment be made to your account. Bear in mind that only verified PayPal accounts will qualify for payment.
• Amazon e-vouchers - with just 50 points ($5) in your account, you can request an Amazon.com e-gift code.
• Apple Store gift cards - with 100 points ($10) sitting in your account, you can request an app store / iTunes gift card.

Super-Fast Rewards Delivery

Opinion Outpost is very unique in that rewards are often delivered instantly after requesting them. It's uncommon to have to wait more than a few minutes/hours to receive a PayPal payment or e-gift card that you've requested, though technically they advertise a 3 day rewards processing period.

Take Surveys Often

Paid surveys will be sent to you on a regular basis. You can also visit the website, log in and find a list of available surveys, giving you plenty of chances to make cash. A typical Opinion Outpost survey takes 10-15 minutes to complete and the number of points you can expect to receive per survey ranges between 5 to 50 points.

Qualifying Questions

Before you begin your chosen survey, you may have to answer a series of multiple-choice questions. These may appear to be irrelevant to the topic of the survey itself, but are a way for researchers to ensure they're receiving responses from the people they're looking for answers from. Sometimes, you’ll be disqualified from taking the survey after answering these, however there will usually be other surveys available for you to take.

Opinion Outpost App

Opinion Outpost does not offer a mobile app. Although most of their surveys are mobile-friendly and can be completed on your phone, you will still need to access them via your e-mail, or by logging into the website from your phone.

Badges

Opinion Output offers ‘Badges’, which essentially serve as loyalty bonuses. You will start out with a Bronze membership and have the chance to upgrade to Silver, Gold, Platinum or Diamond based on how active you are on the website and how complete your profile is.

As your badge levels increase, additional achievement points are awarded, which can be found on your Survey History page. These will show up as 'community achievement'. Bear in mind that you can be downgraded to a lower tier badge if you don’t remain active on the website.

Quarterly Chances to Win $10,000

If you are in the USA and you get disqualified from a survey, participate in a survey, or exchange your valuable points for an entry, you will have a chance to win $10,000 in a quarterly cash draw. That means that $40,000 in total is awarded to 4 lucky members every year! If you are in Canada, there are also sweepstakes available in the form of 4 quarterly draws worth $1,250 each ($5,000 yearly).

Refer Your Friends to Earn More

Opinion Outpost's referral program will award you $1.00 every time you refer a friend using your custom link and they complete at least one survey. Earn up to $5.00 in total. Is Opinion Outpost Legit?

Opinion Outpost is over a decade old and is a legitimate survey site that pays approximately $5 million dollars in rewards to its members every year. My issue with Opinion Outpost is 2 fold:

1 month ago, I cashed out points and chose to have them deposited into my PayPal account. This process is usually automatic, but I am aware of the fact that it CAN take up to 2 days. By the third day, I still not received the payment. I then emailed them. The first email response I received was from a customer service representative who clearly did not understand what it was I was attempting to convey - DESPITE my having been very clear. I then reached out via phone and spoke with another agent. This agent informed me that he would need to forward my request to Opinion Outpost's "Reward Team" and that it could take 7 - 10 business days for the issue to be resolved. Fair enough.

7 - 10 business days came and went. Still no payment and no follow up from Opinion Outpost. This prompted me to call. The only option available as to leave a voicemail, which I did. I spoke very clearly and left my name, email address and the ticket number. I waited a couple of days, and got no response. I called and emailed AGAIN, only to be told that they would again need to reach out to the "Reward Team". This was this past Monday. Today is Friday and still no response. Where is the follow through? Better yet, how does one initiate a payout to a VERIFIED PayPal account, only to never receive the payment? Where did it go? Why is Opinion Outpost giving me the run around?


Second issue: in late October, I was invited to participate in a 3 day focus group. It was explained that all participants would be compensated $75 worth of points within 2 -4 weeks. It has been 4 weeks, still no points. I have reached out to Opinion Outpost regarding this as well, only to be told that someone would "Follow up with the team".

Is this SOP for Opinion Outpost? To get people's participation and stiff them on the agreed upon rewards?

Opinion Outpost is owned by Survey Sampling who also owns SurveySpot. Since purchasing these companies, they drastically reduced Survey payouts. Plus you MUST take a 10 -15 question survey (for free) before they let you take the survey [every survey]. Do not EVER update your personal info or email address because they will freeze your account. I cancelled my account today [11/27/16] after being a member over 10 years.

I was a member of Opinion Outpost for a couple years when they froze my account saying there are multiple email addresses associated with my account. I asked for verification of the emails, how long they have been in use & payment for the points I had already accumulated. 2 weeks later & 3 emails : no response. Lot's of complaints about this on their fb page & internet review sites. Not worth the time to do surveys when they are gonna freeze your account for bogus reason

I have been a member of Survey Sampling for 10 years. First as Survey Spot, then when they changed over to Opinion Outpost. Survey Spot in it's original form was great. I was making money hand over fist and it was fun back in the day. Then it crashed and crashed hard with long surveys with very little pay. Opinion Outpost took over as being the better of the two. Opinion Outpost itself was good for awhile as well, but here we are. In this last year specifically. Like the title says. They get paid, you do not. You will spend many, many minutes doing surveys for them. You'll get 99% - 100% done, and you will get the Thanks For Your Time Message which means you will get paid nothing. If you write Opinion Outpost. They will always take the side of the survey maker company. While you the Survey Taker get left holding the bag with nothing to show for your time. So once again, "They Get Paid, You Do Not"

The dirty not so little secret about these companies is that they aren't just conducting these surveys for nothing. Someone is paying them to conduct these surveys and most have a set amount set aside for the survey taker. Instead of giving the survey taker the crumb payment the sparse little payment as incentive for completing the survey. These companies that host their surveys on Opinion Outpost take the whole pie and you don't even get your crumbs. You can sometimes spend up to 45+ minutes on these surveys only to get a Thanks For Your Time Message at the end which means you get nothing for your time except for a drawing entry for a $10,000 prize sweepstakes.

Let me give you a big hint. If they won't pay you $0.50 for 15+ minutes of your time. Then you sure as heck don't have any chance of winning the $10,000 sweepstakes.

The only good thing I have to say about this company lately is when you finally somehow miraculously find a way to cash out $10.00 through Paypal. They do pay instantly. That is the only positive thing they have going for them at the moment. I am currently on a hiatus from doing surveys for them, and perhaps permanently if they do not get their act together.
