How to Join Pinecone Research

Because Pinecone Research is an invitation-only survey panel, potential new members must be invited by other members to join, or they must find a join link posted on a website. Reward Types and Amounts

For each survey taken, Pinecone Research awards its members a minimum of 300 points. This equates to $3.00 USD for every survey completed. Canadians typically earn $3.00 CAD per survey, while Britons earn £3 per survey completion. There are a variety of options that accumulated points can be used towards.

  • Bank Transfer - A new payout option recently introduced by Pinecone is cash payments made via bank transfer. When selecting this option, you will be asked to create a 'wallet' on a third party payment processor website. Once set up, you can request a cash payment deposited directly into your bank account. Payments are typically issued within 48 hours of request.
  • Amazon e-Cards - You can choose to receive an Amazon gift card with your collected points. The e-card will be sent directly to your email account.
  • Catalog and Gift Cards - Pinecone Research offers an extensive catalog of gift cards and merchandise options. Some of the gift card options include Starbucks, iTunes, Walmart gift cards, as well as many others.
  • Prepaid Virtual Visas – If stated up front, some Visas are only available to US residents and residents of US territories and can only be used in the United States.

Earn your First Check Automatically

Once you complete your first survey, which is always rewarded with a minimum of 300 points, Pinecone Research will automatically send you a check for $3.00 to the mailing address on your profile. This is a security measure to establish your profile and account. After your first check, you will have the option to choose the form in which you would like to receive your future rewards.

Survey Types

Interesting online surveys are e-mailed to members, and are on a variety of different topics. Surveys usually take about 15 to 20 minutes of your time to complete. Pinecone may also send its members very short questionnaires that take about 2 – 5 minutes to fill out, and although these questionnaires are not compensated, they are still important in making a difference.

Product Testing Opportunities

Occasionally, Pinecone may mail out products for their members to test from home. These may be physical products, or food items that may come delivered in a cooler. A follow-up survey is usually provided as part of the product test, which typically pays around $3. These opportunities are highly sought after, as you may receive free food (or a product that you might be able to keep), as well as a paid follow up survey!

Tried to install software on my computer

I was very pleased with this group in the beginning. Surveys are kind of long and always pay $3/300 points. I received an email from them asking if I wanted to join a group who would allow Amazon to place software on my computer and be able to see my emails and purchases. I declined. They were rather pushy about this and I continued to decline. They finally quit emailing me to join this "Amazon thing". About 2 months ago I completed a survey and at the end was a large button to click on, an additional 300 point reward, and just a simple "join this something ( I don't remember the word but it was not Amazon) and receive a reward". There was no explanation of what you were joining and it seemed real easy and simple. I'm overly cautious sometimes so before clicking on that "reward" button I googled/researched the word and right away it came up that it was this Amazon email software. There was absolutely NO explanation on their website of what it was you would be joining if you clicked on this "reward" button and that you would be allowing them to place this Amazon email tracking software on your computer. I emailed Pinecone that I was extremely angry about this and told them that I thought it was illegal and sneaky that they did this in this manner and that you are not supposed to sneak tracking software onto people's computers without their knowledge. I know they receive payment from Amazon for every person they get to sign up for this program. Needless to say I have parted ways with Pinecone. I was pleased with their survey program up to this point. Just pay very close attention to what you are signing up for once you join up and you should be ok.

This company started out great. Always received 2 or 3 surveys per month for many years. Now no surveys for 4 months . After awhile they ignore you. This company is at the bottom of my list.

Hurt Me Really Bad

I was a member for 10 years.I took surveys right when I got them.I was very reliable.Than something happened in my life and I became a widow.For 4 days I was unable to do surveys for Pinecone.I was at my husbands funeral.It was a very bad time for me.A week later I got a really nasty letter from someone saying they did not care about my personal life and theta there was NO excuse.OMG..I begged and begged.OMG who ever this person was hurt me so bad with words in emails.To this day 3 years later I don't now who would ever treat me so bad.If this is how Pinecone is .I am glad to be away.Yeah they do all this stuff.And they can let you go like you are dust.

Worst Customer Service I've Ever Received In My Entire Life!

I never had an issue with them, just because a problem never arose, but as soon as one did Pinecone Research showed their true colors. I did a survey, completed it, but never got the money. I sent an email to the ONLY customer service person you can talk to. I said that I didn't receive the payment and I provided as much information that I could that would help her locate the issue and give me the reward. Instead however, all she continued to do was not actually read my email and send me information about how to log into my account. Once, after sending five or six emails, I got her to understand my issue she then proceeded to tell me that it was my fault and not a glitch or issue with Pinecone Research. I continued to be polite and ask for her help and for her to look into the issue, and after months and months (about four) emailing her over 30 times it was never solved. I kept emailing her because she finally said she'd help, but then she started to pretty much call me a liar, then after actually looking into the survey told me that I somehow didn't complete it after providing her information stating otherwise, she then went back to sending me information that had nothing to do with the issue at all. And then finally told me she refused to help me. I had only spent that much time out of principal, but it did matter. I then tried to ignore it and drop the issue, as she then stopped emailing me back (as she previously stated she would get back to me and didn't several times). However, she held a grudge and ever since I have not received a single survey in 6 months. I did surveys all the time with them and now because of that I get absolutely nothing at all. I then contacted her about that twice, to which she replied that nothing fits with my profile suddenly and then ends her email with a snarky friendly remark that is obviously sarcasm. I have never been more frustrated or angry. This place has the worst customer service not just because how unprofessional she was and is, but because why would you only have one single person have that job for the entire state?

Payment issues that still is not taken care of!

I cashed out on 11/1/15 to receive a check by mail for $120.00 that I was going to use for Black Friday. When I cashed out, it told me I should have my check in 10 business days. When I didn't get it, I contacted them via email (no phone number), and they responded via email stating 15 business days. When I contacted them again after 15 business days, they stated that they needed to look into it. After a few days of not hearing anything, I sent another email and I finally got a response that stated that the check came back to them. They asked me to verify my mailing address so that they can re-send the check. I responded immediately which was 2 days ago. Today, I received another email stating that since the check did not get delivered, they would be temporary suspending my account until I get my address resolved!

This experience is now a month old, and they still have not delivered what is rightfully mine! I have mentioned to them over and over to place the points back into my account, and those comments have been ignored. Instead of helping me, they're not suspending my account and won't mention about my reward. I sure could have used that money to buy presents for my kids! Thank you for screwing that up for me!
