Fill out the profilers for more points

When you first log into your account, you will be asked to complete the profile surveys (though this is optional). These short surveys are designed to help better match you to surveys so that you're primarily sent surveys you will qualify for. For every completed profile survey you complete, you will be awarded 100 points. You can update your profile surveys every 6 months to earn more points.

How to Redeem Points

Upon joining and completing surveys and participating in games and other point-awarding activities, you will be credited with points. Once you have earned a minimum of 30,000 points ($10.00 worth), you can redeem your points for a selection of prizes.

Rewards Options

Toluna Influencers offers an extensive rewards catalog. When you're ready to request a cash out from your Toluna Influencers account, click the Rewards button and choose from a wide variety of options:

  • PayPal payments - with 65,000 points in your account, you can request a $20.00 PayPal cash payment.
  • e-Gift cards - choose from a wide variety of digital gift cards, including Amazon, Boston Pizza, Apple, Starbucks, and many more. Gift cards can be redeemed with as few as 30,000 points ($10.00).

Note that rewards options will vary based on your country of residence.

Toluna Points Value: 3,000 Points = $1.00 (though this varies slightly per reward chosen). Therefore, 30 points = $0.01.

Survey Taking Experience

Start taking surveys

The Surveys tab in your account will display a list of online surveys ready for you to fill out. You can choose to view surveys by Priority Surveys (which are recommended for you), Quick Surveys (short surveys), or by Premium Surveys (surveys that award more points than usual).

Every survey will display the estimated length of time it will take to complete, the topic of the survey, as well as how many points you will receive for completing it. Some surveys may offer a unique experience such as being a video survey or a diary style survey.

Points Earned Per Survey

The number of points you will earn per survey completion will vary and is based on things like the length and complexity of the survey. However, successful online survey completions typically award anywhere from 15 - 50,000 points each, and special surveys could offer even more.

Points Expiry

When points are credited to your account, they remain valid for 16 months. If after this period your points have not been used, they will automatically expire and be deleted from your account. Your points will not expire all at once; instead, points will expire 16 months after you originally earned them, so be sure to regularly redeem your points for rewards.

Complete waste of time – they don't pay!

I spent 25 minutes honestly completing a survey, only to receive a fraction of the promised points. Support completely blocked my complaint with a fake automated excuse about "quality filters." They take your data and your time without paying. Avoid this deceptive platform!

Cut off from surveys

All of a sudden I get a message when I try to do a survey that they are all out of surveys! But, it shows I have 32 to do! So I messaged them. This is what I got:- "

Too many problems

Toluna is often rated highly among online survey sites. However, there's a dark side. The rewards often change the one you might've wanted disappears leaving you with fewer choices most of which you don't want. Another and even more important issue with Luna is there arbitrary and capricious denial of rewards. On many occasions, I've had to argue with them when they denied rewards or threatened to cancel my account for some alleged misconduct. Let me be clear. I've never conducted myself anyway, but in the way that I'm certain that I met all standards for the site. Yet I keep getting my rewards denied and war on several occasions I've been prevented from taking surveys. I've never had this problem with any other survey site. Clearly Toluna is conducting itself in a way that is honest and fair. There are many survey sites out there. I suggest you use others before consider considering Toluna.

They will randomly cancel your account and confiscate your points

I've been a member for a few months and they recently cancelled my account and refuse to offer an explanation beyond a cut-and-paste response about violating their terms of service. I have asked them repeatedly to provide a single example of any policy that I violated, and they have refused to provide even a single example. In one response they did provide me with a meaningless list of survey numbers, but no information on what I am alleged to have done within those surveys to warrant deleting my account, The only aspect of their terms of service that they will discuss with you is that if they cancel your account, you forfeit all of your points. In my case they have taken $70 in points. Again, they have refused to provide me with any justification for closing my account and stealing my points. It appears that my only sin is making the mistake of letting my point balance get too high, and they decided to cancel my account so they would not have to pay out.

***Toluna replied to my review with the same vague cut and paste response about violating their terms of service. They will not provide me with a single example of any violation on my part. They have cancelled my account, which I do not care about, and have granted themself the right to steal my points when I have done nothing wrong. They are a dishonest company. If you are going to take my points you can at least make the effort to lie to me about what I have done wrong. They do not even provide me with that much.

I never had a problem with Toluna until the past few weeks. Everytime I tried to do a survey, I would get a message, saying they were out of surveys. This went on for a week. I sent them an e-mail,they replied by saying to try another browser, clean out the cache,etc. Nothing worked ! had over 900000 points, I redeemed them for Amazon gift cards. I was afraid, that someday, that I would not be able to get into my account. Funny part, I can play the games, but not do the surveys.
