Electronic Rewards

Harris Poll offers their members the opportunity to earn points, known as HIpoints in exchange for their participation. Once you earn 1250 points (worth $10), you can request an e-gift voucher from places like Amazon, iTunes, Starbucks, Walmart, ESPN, and more. You may also be entered into sweepstakes after each completed survey for even more chances of winning big.

Get Disqualified, But Still Have a Chance to Win!

If you attempt to complete a survey, but are disqualified in the process, you will receive an entry into the Harris Panel Sweepstakes. You will be also be offered the opportunity to try qualifying for other available surveys.

Survey Lengths

Online surveys typically take anywhere between 5-25 minutes to complete. Short surveys will take around 5 minutes, and very long ones are around 25 minutes. These reasonable survey lengths will keep your attention and prevent you from getting bored too quickly! There are special surveys on offer as well including special focus groups, telephone based surveys, and even surveys about independently downloaded software. Common survey topics, however, range from fashion to movies to shopping habits.

Participate Often

Expect to receive between 3-5 online surveys a month.

Earn Points

Even if you are disqualified from completing a survey, expect to receive around 15 HIpoints! The amount of points you get per survey varies depending on the length or complexity of the survey.

Harris Poll now has an app, available on iOS and Android. The mobile apps will require you to login with your Harris credentials. Using the app allows you to see survey opportunities, take surveys, participate in special research programs and access your rewards. Turn on your notification settings for the app to receive new survey opportunities in real time.

Cashing Out

After you have reached 1250 points, you are able to redeem your HIpoints for e-cards and gift vouchers. Most people who participate, reach this threshold after completing around 10 surveys. Rewards include e-cards or gift vouchers from Amazon, iTunes, Starbucks and more.

Rewards Processing Times

Redeem your rewards and receive them within 15 business days. They will be sent to your e-mail account. Most rewards will be credited to your account within 10 minutes of your participation, but occasionally it may take as long as 24 hours for the credit to appear in your account. If you are redeeming your HIpoints, you will receive your e-code within 24-48 hours of cashing in your HIpoints. If you have cashed in for physical merchandise, you will receive your merchandise via USPS within 7-14 business days. All costs of rewards (including shipping and handling) are covered by Harris Poll, unless you are redeeming products using an e-certificate.

You can only sign up for this company once. If your account gets frozen or terminated there is nothing that can be done

To add some balance to the other reviews, I've had a good experience with Harris. I've been taking surveys for over 10 years with them and have never had any issues. In fact, when I had a to change email addresses due to my IP going out of business I had forgotten to update things at Harris. I got in touch with them a few months after the change as I had not received any surveys. They got me "reinstated" and things were back on track. Yes, it does take a long time to amass enough points for the more valuable rewards. The surveys I've taken are usually worth 100 points. I generally receive at least 4 surveys a week - usually more. There are some I do not qualify for which I get. Surveys must be targeted for the results to be pertinent to whomever is requesting Harris to do the survey. If one is expecting to "get stuff fast" it isn't going to happen most likely. If, on the other hand, you're a patient individual it's surprising how the points add up.

The rewards that I'm interested in are quite good. One that I recently received was a Digitech FX pedal for guitar or other electric oriented musical instrument. It's a great pedal and fits my needs well. It's not the latest and greatest and best out there, but getting it for basically taking surveys works for me.

One rather tedious part of the survey process is the "pre-screen" survey to determine if a survey exists that fits your demo. For me it's a minor thing, but, again, if you're an impatient individual it may not be so minor. YMMV.

Out of the survey sites I participate in Harris is one of the better ones. They have always treated me well.

This company can be problematic at times. As a panelist , you will get frequent surveys to do. However , you rarely qualify for them and they tend to be the same ones getting recycled. The surveys pay in points , but not always do they credit as they are supposed to. Also , times listed can be deceptive as some are slow or slow to load.

On the plus side , their rewards site has a decent response time and items redeemed for are received in a timely manner. Their points per item can be a bit on the high side , though.

On the negative side , customer service is essentially non-existent. Inquiries made through the site or Facebook go unanswered as do phone calls to the company. The best you are likely to get is the receptionist answering the phone and sending you to voicemail that says they return calls , but never do.

I belonged to this one for a few years, cashed out twice only. I do believe it was a waste of time. I didn't realize I was only making about .10 per survey. I had so much trouble the last time I got a gift certificate from them, I left the panel. There are better paying ones out there. I reduced this to 1/2 star because you can never rejoin them ever.
