Swagbucks is a website where you can earn rewards by doing activities you normally do, such as shopping, searching the web, watching videos, playing games, printing coupons, and taking surveys. Every time you complete one of these activities, you can earn points called SB's.
Upon becoming a member and logging into their website, you will see links to Shop, Search, Watch, Play, Answer, Discover.
You can redeem your SB's for two main reward options: cash, or e-gift cards. One SB is worth approximately 1 cent.
If you would like to receive cash, you may request a PayPal payment to your account. Payments take approximately 10-14 days to process and will be issued in US dollars. Denominations are $25, $50, $100, and $250.
Alternatively, you may request an e-gift card to major retailers such as Amazon, Home Depot, Starbucks, and more. Other options include Facebook credits, iTunes cards, restaurant gift cards, Cineplex credits, and hotel credits. E-cards are awarded within 10 days of request and denominations of anywhere from $1 - $100 are available.
Tip! Look out for “sales”, where gift cards require around 10% less the SB's they normally require.
You may also donate your SB's to charities such as Unicef, Doctors Without Borders, Red Cross, etc. Donation amounts start at only 5 SB’s ($0.05).
Daily goal points are offered where you can receive bonus SB's if you reach the daily goal by the end of the day. Receive another bonus when you reach the daily goal 7 days in a row. Bonuses are paid on or around the first day of the following month.
Swagbucks has been around since 2005 (the same year SurveyPolice was created!) and has over 13 million members, with over 2 million Facebook fans. They have awarded over 175 million dollars in rewards to their members making them, by far, the internet's largest GPT website. Every day, they award 7,000 gift cards to their members.
Eligibility: Swagbucks is open to residents 13 years of age and older who reside in USA, UK, Canada, Germany, France, India, Australia, and Ireland
» Swagbucks occasionally offers a $5 signup bonus to new members.
This is the first survey panel I've really joined, (actually my first was inbox dollars way back in my teens but being a teen I thought it wasn't worth my time). I heard about this survey panel way back in like 2009 or so, but I didn't join because I thought the name was goofy and that it couldn't be legit because of it. I originally joined because of the cashback offers they have for shopping, which I've used. I was skeptical about it at first, because you know, when you activate the cash back for when you're shopping at a website, it tracks your visit... so I didn't know if it was trustworthy or not, cause I didn't want my payment info being stolen or whatever. But I finally gave in and tried it cause I really wanted to save money, I haven't had any problems with it, though one time I made 2 separate purchases on the same site, with the swagbutton activated, but it didn't credit me for the second one, so I bugged them about it and they gave me the credit. Customer service is pretty good, if you get ripped off a survey cause there was an error or something after completing it, they'll give you the credit. I discovered the other money earning stuff over time, videos is what I was using for a while to get money, but I was only earning like 40 cents a day, literally I would sit there all day long, cranking the videos and I'd get 40 cents after 12 hours or so. At the time that was the only way I was earning, but then I discovered the surveys, and obviously I'm getting paid way more for my time doing those, usually at about 60 cents a piece. People get confused when I say cents... Swagbucks, is what they call the credits but 1 swagbuck = 1 cent, so when I say 60 cents I meant 60 swagbucks... so same thing. It's not that hard to figure out I don't understand why people get so confused. Anyway, so on average I might earn a few cents a day all the way up to $6 or so on swagbucks. The most I've ever earned in a day there was about $6. And the most I've ever been paid for a single survey was close to $2. Over time though I've found other survey panels, and some of them pay a lot more then swagbucks does, so I've kinda leaned away some from swagbucks, though I still use it. My first month of really using swagbucks I earned about $100 so I cant complain much there, but the other months I earned roughly $25-50 a month. And as for the cash back for shopping online, I've also found other websites that pay much higher percentages back, so I've also leaned away from using them for that. I always compare every time I plan to purchase something, who has the highest percentage cash back for the site and department I'm buying from, most of the time swagbucks loses, sorry swagbucks! But aside from it coming a little short compared to others, they are a pretty good site overall. However I've run into some other issues with them, like they have this "to do list" and if you complete it you get a little bonus. Well one of them is called "discover" and trying to get that one checked off the list has proven to be very difficult. At least half the time or more when I try to get it checked off it doesn't work, I complete a discover task and it's still on the list. And there's been times when I didn't get credit or full credit for a few things. Like for one task I was supposed to get 15 SB but I only got 14 for it, things like that. So overall it could definitely be improved in some areas, but it's a pretty good site in general.
I like the variety of ways to earn SB, but on my Windows XP desktop, it's EXTREMELY laggy. I'm thinking of upgrading to a newer version of a laptop, but Swagbucks should also improve their compatibility even with old computers if they want more members. Overall, they're pretty much satisfactory if you're patient enough.
I have never once been cheated out of any points and when it was time to redeem for my rewards I received my gift card code within 30 minutes.
had to change my review as swagbucks gotten lots better. In 4 or 5 years time $3000.00 and counting. Thank you swagbucks.
Swagbucks was my first experience in the world of online sites to earn cash or gift cards and it was so good until recently. While I completely understand the need for change, the entire system has changed and instead of being fun, it has led me to explore additional sites and programs.
Ncraves and surveys were my primary method of earning money but they are now rarely available and often times, a completion rewards us nothing.
