Payment and Rewards

Rack up Points

Each time you take a survey, you will earn points for your opinions. Screener surveys (short surveys) are worth between 5 – 50 points, or an entry into a monthly draw, and are 20 questions or less. Longer surveys offer points ranging from 100 – 5,000.

Points Value: 1,000 points = $10.00. 1 ACOP point therefore equals 1 cent.

Great Reward Options

As a panelist of ACOP, you must have a 1,000 point minimum balance ($10 worth) to redeem your points. Once you have reached this minimum, you may redeem your balance for the following options:

  • PayPal: For most countries, use PayPal to cash out your earnings in a simple and easy manner. If you decide to use PayPal as your cash out option, make sure your PayPal email matches the email you used to sign up with American Consumer Opinion.
  • Hyperwallet: Like PayPal, Hyperwallet is a user-friendly payment platform that operates in 170+ countries. Allow 8-12 weeks for payment and receive a confirmation email once your money is available.
  • Sweepstakes Cash Out: Use your points toward sweepstakes entries that give you a chance to win a variety of lucrative prizes. (Note that once a sweepstakes has been entered using your points, you do not get your points back, even if you are not selected as a winner).
  • Charity Donations: Choose to donate your money to a variety of credible charities.

Survey Taking Experience

American Consumer Opinion Surveys

ACOP offers online surveys to its members that are interesting and quick, with the average survey taking approximately 10 minutes to complete.

In addition to online surveys, participate in other research opportunities such as product testing, focus groups, and judging the newest advertising campaigns. You can expect to receive invitations for participation from American Consumer Opinion several times a year.

Member's Tip! Ensure you add [email protected] to your approved senders list to ensure you receive survey invitation emails in your inbox.

Household Surveys

A few times a year ACOP sends out a survey that pertains to each household. The survey asks what products and services you use on a day-to-day basis. If you participate in this survey, you will be more likely to receive additional future survey invitations, which can translate into earning more points!

Contact Me If You Are Having Trouble Too

November 26, 2023 by Mary from United States

On November 19, 2023, I did a ridiculously long survey for American Consumer Opinion, which they posted onto their site even though the survey was actually for IpsoISay. This took me over an hour so I nearly quit multiple times but pushed onward because I was home anyway and believe in finishing what I started. At the end of the survey I was owed the 1,000 points promised to me. I was told that I "didn't qualify" and got nothing for my trouble. In other words, I was perfectly qualified to do the survey but "not qualified" to get paid for it. Now it is only $10 and would have gone to a charity I volunteer for anyway because I generally use my survey proceeds to send Amazon boxes to the Make A Wish families coming down here to take their children making a final wish to the theme parks here or just send any cash I get in Paypal as a donation. However, American Consumer Opinion is refusing to pay up and blaming me for the fact that they are stealing from me.

My correspondence to them brought the response that the client allegedly decided that I took more than the time allowed to finish the survey. Not that that ridiculously long survey was too long but that I was too slow. If I had sped through it that would have been the excuse for not paying what they know that they owe.

I am a retired court stenographer who has contacted my former judge and enlisted his help because he takes consumer fraud very seriously. I will be paid. Period. I am retired so I have time to make the miseries of the condescending agent (who admits that I did indeed complete the survey he is refusing to credit me for) my mission in life. This could even be fun!

Do not do surveys for American Consumer Opinion if you value your time and your personal information which American Consumer Opinion is being paid for while refusing to pay you.

Please contact me if American Consumer Opinion owes you and is now refusing to pay. I want to help.

I am also contacting IpsoISay to let them know that unless they are already affiliated with American Consumer Opinion and using the same dishonest tactics themselves, that all they have no reason to pay American Consumer Opinion for the sums which the survey takers are not getting paid because all they are getting for their money is negative PR in the form of guilt by association. As a former market research client myself while I ran my own business, I sure would not let any survey company treat my potential clients like American Consumer Opinion is treating me.

Why so popular??

October 8, 2023 by Jim from United States

I do not understand why people give this survey such positive reviews. For those precious few surveys I qualify for, without fail the survey stalls. Does not matter which browser I am using. Since so many people think highly of this, could someone please enlighten me as to what I am missing?

Shamefully Low Pay

May 13, 2023 by Carolyne from United States

At best, they pay 50 cents per 20 minutes of your time. They applaud themselves by entering people in impossible-to-win lotteries for awards.
Stay away. There are much better sites online for your time (Crowdtap for one).

American Consumer Opinion responded to this review on June 23, 2023

Hello Carolyne,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. While there are some surveys that only pay 50 Points, these are usually pulled into our API from outside companies.

Our in-house surveys pay much, much more than that. Generally, you can expect to receive 300-400 Points for 20 minutes of your time when you complete an in-house survey.
My account got banned for zero reason

April 25, 2023 by Alex from United States

I tried contacting them and all they said was,

A search of our records indicates that you are not an active member of American Consumer Opinion®. There could be a few reasons for this. Your account may have been flagged for non-compliant activity, or you are signed up under another email address (besides this one). If your information was flagged, this could be due to several reasons.

Your survey or registration data was not valid.
We have found that you were not being compliant with the American Consumer Opinion® panel’s Terms and Conditions agreement.
