Take paid surveys and participate in product tests with American Consumer Opinion. Join the site by navigating to the ACOP website and become a member by creating an account using your Facebook, Google, or Apple account, or simply your email address.

Once you have entered a few personal details, you will be sent a confirmation email to the email address you registered. After you’ve completed this, you will be transferred back to the American Consumer Opinion dashboard and you will see a list of surveys you’ll be eligible to take.

Alternatively, you may provide your cell phone number in order to be notified by text when a new paid survey becomes available.

Payment and Rewards

Rack up Points

Each time you take a survey, you will earn points for your opinions. Screener surveys (short surveys) are worth between 5 – 50 points or an entry into a monthly draw and are 20 questions or less. Longer surveys offer points ranging from 100 – 5,000.

Points Conversion: 1,000 points = $10.00. 1 point therefore equals 1 cent.

Great Reward Options

As a panelist of ACOP, you must have a 1,000 point minimum balance ($10 worth) to redeem your points. Once you have reached this minimum, you may redeem your balance for the following options:

  • PayPal: For most countries, use PayPal to cash out your earnings in a simple and easy manner. If you decide to use PayPal as your cash out option, make sure your PayPal email matches the email you used to sign up with American Consumer Opinion.
  • Hyperwallet: Like PayPal, Hyperwallet is a user-friendly payment platform that operates in 170+ countries. Allow 8-12 weeks for payment and receive a confirmation email once your money is available.
  • Sweepstakes Cash Out: Use your points toward sweepstakes entries that give you a chance to win a variety of lucrative prizes. (Note that, once a sweepstakes has been entered using your points, you do not get your points back, even if you are not selected as a winner).
  • Charity Donations: Choose to donate your money to a variety of credible charities.

Survey Taking Experience

ACOP Surveys

ACOP offers online surveys to its members that are interesting and quick, with the average survey taking approximately 10 minutes to complete.

In addition to online surveys, participate in other research opportunities such as product testing and judging the newest advertising campaigns. You can expect to receive invitations for participation from American Consumer Opinion several times a year.

Member's Tip! Ensure you add [email protected] to your approved senders list to ensure you receive survey invitation emails in your inbox.

Household Surveys

A few times a year ACOP sends out a survey that pertains to each household. The survey asks what products and services you use on a day-to-day basis. If you participate in this survey, you will be more likely to receive additional future survey invitations, which can translate into earning more points!

Dumped for bogus reason

February 25, 2019 by Kathleen from United States

Update: Now they are paying a little quicker, but the other day I couldn't get onto the site to check if they paid me for something (completed, then error). I couldn't get in. So I send am email, and received a message that I was banned because their surveys were going to spam. NOT TRUE. I would have to get a new email and rejoin. Just not worth it. And another bites the dust!
This is not a bad site, the surveys pay fairly well and you get paid for screeners now. HOWEVER, for the past year and a half (since January of 2013), their turn around time on payment has gone from 9 days maximum to at least 9 WEEKS. When questioned, you will receive a generic reply that "the accounting department is behind and trying to catch up ...." I have received the same answer since December of 2013. If you don't mind waiting, go for it. At least they pay cash instead of Amazon gift cards.

Don't bother joining this survey website unless you don't mind waiting a minimum of 6 months to receive your payment.

good luck getting paid

August 4, 2018 by Joseph from United States

They are very slow to pay you. They claim it takes them 8-12 weeks to do a PayPal payment. In reality it will take about twice that long and a lot of emails to get your money. They apparently do not screen surveys before sending you emails so you may get eliminated from 95% of the surveys you are invited to before they even ask you a question. It took 20 weeks and multiple emails the last time I tried to get paid. I give up on them. Avoid them.

Missing incentive for Marlow's Tavern survey!

August 1, 2018 by Candea from United States

I was invited by someone by the name of Pat Lane,on behalf of American Consumer Opinions,to do a 90 minute restaurant survey, specifically about Marlow's Tavern, for a $50 incentive. This was last Wednesday (07/25/2018).I completed the survey, and could see that there were 129 others doing it with me...i was thanked for completing the survey and haven't heard ANYTHING since!Upon doing my research of American Consumers Opinions,i discovered a 1 out of 5 stars review, and countless recounts of people feeling cheated and discarded.Any other victims out there?

Paypal Payment

July 29, 2018 by Martha from United States

I would give "0" stars here if possible. I have a been a long-time member of this company, but made the mistake of letting my points accrue for too long. I cashed out over $200.00 in Paypal on May 22nd, 2018, and now, 67 days later, it is still in "pending" status. I wrote them several times this response, just an automated reply, and it is now almost 10 weeks that I submitted payment. This is ridiculous! I work with other survey companies which pay within 3 days or instantaneously. I can't fathom what the problem is. I am frustrated, and am not getting anywhere. Don't waste your time with this company. There are more reputable ones out there that pay in a timely fashion.
