Smart App closed their panel and app in May, 2021. If you have the Smart App mobile app installed on your phone, be sure to uninstall it.

In December 2019, Smart Panel renamed itself as Smart App. If you're looking for Smart App Reviews, please refer to the reviews below.

Smart App is a smartphone app that allows you to answer questions about your tech habits - and you will be paid well for your time.

With Smart Panel App, you can help your favorite web sites, apps, tech companies, and mobile carriers give you better services and more features. Download the Smart App and anonymously share your data. All data collected is encrypted, secured, and protected – Smart App is owned and operated by Verto Analytics Research firm.

How Smart App Works

With Smart App, you’ll need to apply to become a member. To apply you’ll answer a short survey about your personal details and your tech habits, including how often you use your smartphone.

If accepted, you’ll download the Smart App on your smartphone and keep it there. The app will usually give you surveys to answer. You’ll earn points by answering these questions about your technology habits.

The app will track your smartphone usage and share your habits from using this smartphone device. It reportedly uses around 3MB of data per month and causes an extra 1-5% reduction of battery life. You may have to download a VPN onto your device too.

After you have kept the app on your phone for 30 days, you can convert the points earned into rewards for the first time.

Crashed My Computer

November 6, 2017 by Angela from United States

As far as I know installing the app on my phone did not harm it. I have not uninstalled it yet, but I will be doing that shortly. However, immediately after installing it on my computer, my malware detecting software notified me that I needed to do a scan for potential malware. So I had it scan my computer. It detected malware and I had the software quarantine the threat. To finish this, the software has to restart the computer. Then the blue screen of death happened. There was nothing I could do. My computer was dead. Luckily, I have a friend who makes a good living fixing computers. He came over after his job and found out that the malware had infected itself into programming that is needed for the computer to operate. So when my malware detection system ran, it not only got rid of the malware, it got rid of essential programming as well. And that's what crashed my computer. So no, don't download this unless you want to take the chance of crashing your own computer. Not everyone has a friend that will fix their computer for the price of fixing them dinner.

Onerous Onboard and faulty App

October 23, 2017 by kris from United States

I tried the smartpanel app several times. I know it was installed because heretofore working apps started failing. I tried contacting support and they presented an arduous onboarding process. This group is also associated with www.sandbox-community.com and www.research-connections.com. Their web sites read as if they are a progressive and together organization but I experienced something quite different. They are arrogant, the type of arrogance that does not believe in feedback. So if this group doesn't click with you, you should not expect that to change.

Damaged

September 24, 2017 by Martha from United States

I downloaded the Smart Panel App. The next thing I knew, I had lost Facetime and Camera apps off my Ipad which meant reinstalling them. I was knocked completely off Google Chrome on my PC. Next thing I noticed was I had lost my program I use to open certain email attachments. It was a mess to figure out exactly what had happened and how to correct each item. Needless to say, this app was deleted, uninstalled and will never be reinstalled again.

They killed my phone then wouldn't help me

August 4, 2017 by Nicole from United States

I joined under the idea I was going to be paid to have the app on my phone. The app suddenly updated and started something new every time my phone turned on which drained my battery terribly. I put up with it. However, when I went to withdrawal the $100 I had accumulated, neither PayPal or Amazon worked. I emailed the company THREE times trying to figure out what's going on. I finally was sick of an app draining my phone battery for no reason and deleted it. I suddenly get a response to email someone else. I did that, and they FINALLY responded that "I had a change in devices that voided my payment." Yes, because I deleted the phone app after NOBODY would help me with the fact that I couldn't withdrawal the funds! Unless you want your phone to die for no reason and receive no help until they don't actually have to pay you, don't even bother with this.

App Cripples Browsing

July 12, 2017 by Keith from United States

This worked fine for a few years but the latest PC app update prevented me from accessing too many sites and slowed browsing down since it forces your PC to use a proxy server. Used to be able to disable that but latest software will automatically switch it back. Not worth the trouble, especially since it prevented me from completing surveys from other panels.
