Earn Rewards for Surveys and More

Tellwut is an online community open to residents of Canada and the USA. Members provide their feedback and opinions on various topics through the Tellwut online survey tool and social media platforms. Tellwut members participate in surveys, offers, and social media activities, earning rewards while being engaged in the Tellwut community experience. It has been operating since 2010, panel growing every day and now has over two million members.

A Survey Taking Community

The community aspect of Tellwut helps it stand out from its competitors. It allows members to create their own surveys, answer other members’ surveys and debate results in a comments section. You can register for Tellwut with your email address, Google or Facebook account. The website will prompt you to fill out your profile as part of the registration process, as this will help you become eligible and qualify easier for more online surveys. Your address information is used to ship your rewards and the rest of information helps optimize which studies you can qualify for.

Payment and Rewards

Tellwut Rewards Cash and Gift Cards

Tellwut rewards you with points that can be exchanged for retail gift vouchers and PayPal payments. To calculate the value of these points, for USA members, 4,000 points can be exchanged for a $10 Amazon gift card, though a $10 Tango card will cost you 4,500 points and a $25 prepaid Visa debit card requires 13,000 points. For Canadians, a $15 Amazon gift card requires 6,000 points and $25 gift cards to Home Depot, Best Buy, etc. require 10,000 points.

Points Value: $1 in rewards requires 400 points. Therefore, 1 Tellwut point = approximately $0.003.

Gift Cards

You can choose gift cards in denominations of $10, $15, $25 for retailers including Amazon, Home Depot, Subway, Sephora, Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, CVS, Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, Domino's, and Game Stop. Amazon gift certificates are also available in extra denominations of $50, $100, and $250.

PayPal Payments

Redemptions for $25 PayPal payments are available with 11,000 points to both US and Canadian users. Payments are issued in your local currency and will take approximately 3 weeks to process.

New Member Bonuses

New members of Tellwut will receive 100 reward points immediately after signing up and a further 300 points are awarded for filling in their account information, for a total joining bonus of 400 points. Becoming a survey taker is super easy, and the registration process only takes a few minutes.

Member's Tip! Remember that your shipping information is required to send you rewards and confirm your eligibility to take surveys, so you might as well provide your shipping information to collect your bonus points straight away

Collect Points to Earn Rewards

Tellwut offers points whenever you take a survey or participate in offers. Points awarded can be anywhere from 5–10,000 points for surveys and up to 200,000 points for offers, depending on the time and effort required, so you potentially have a chance to accrue points fast! For example:

  • Answer a member-generated survey: 5 points
  • Create an approved public survey: 10-20 points
  • Answer an external survey: 40-10,000 points
  • Participate in offers: up to 200,000 points

Starting 2024, Tellwut introduced Streaks, where members can get 10% extra points on all external surveys while a streak is active. To activate, members must complete minimum 1 external survey every day for 5 consecutive days.

Redeeming Your Tellwut Rewards

Tellwut rewards can be redeemed starting at 4,000 points ($10.00), though more rewards are available at 10,000 points ($25.00). Choose from a variety of gift cards options from Visa, Amazon, CVS, Sephora, Walmart, etc., or a PayPal payment.

It’s also possible to convert your points into a prepaid Visa debit card. You’ll need to save up at least 13,000 points for a $25 prepaid gift card.

Once you have enough points to receive a reward, your order will be fulfilled within approximately 10-15 business days of redemption for physical gift-cards or 2-5 days for electronic ones.

Survey Taking Experience

A Focus on Paid Surveys

Where some get-paid-to websites offer a huge range of ways to make money, Tellwut focuses almost exclusively on surveys.

Types of Surveys Offered

Fun polls are created by users (maximum of one posting per week) or are submitted by businesses. Users can log in to their accounts daily to take surveys and do not have to wait for e-mail invitations. You can find the most recent surveys listed in your account under Categories > Most Recent Online Surveys.

Introducing Offers

In January of 2026, Tellwut added an additional offering, where members can earn more points by participating in offers of their choice, such as downloading apps, account sign-ups, cashback purchases, or playing games.

Survey Completion Times

Each Tellwut poll available typically takes less than 30 seconds to complete, and many new polls are available on the website daily. A higher paying survey usually takes between 10-20 minutes to complete. Once the surveys have closed, you may browse through the results to see how your answers stacked up when compared to others!

Survey Availability

Members of Tellwut can simply log into their accounts to take all of the available surveys for that day - invitations to complete surveys are not typically emailed.

Most survey points are awarded directly after you finish a survey, although occasionally some surveys must close before points are awarded. Allow for 10-15 days to receive your points from survey participation.

Community Features

The community aspect of Tellwut is one of its most unique aspects. If you enjoy socializing with other members of survey websites, you may particularly enjoy this feature of the site. Satisfy your curiosity by asking the community questions, participate in discussions around the results of members’ polls, upvote and downvote comments and make friends with who you can message and discuss.

You don't just earn points for surveys! Just signing up gets you started on your way towards earning rewards:

  • Create your account: 100 points
  • Provide profile information: 300 points
  • Refer a friend: 10% of your referral's earnings, for life

Refer a Friend Program

For every friend you refer to Tellwut, you will be credited with 10% of their earnings from external surveys. Whether you're an active member on the site or not doesn't matter. As long as you log into your account once monthly, you will be eligible to collect 10% of your referral's earnings.

To start referring friends, simply click the "Refer A Friend" button listed under your Friends to grab your unique referral URL which you can share with friends, on social media, etc.

Create Your Own Surveys

Tellwut allows you to create one of your own surveys per week. You’ll earn 10-20 points for each survey created, and it can be fun to see the results of questions that were playing on your mind. If you need to do market research for your own job, this feature may be particularly appealing. Member-generated surveys remain live for 24 hours.

You’ll also earn 5 points for answering member-generated surveys. This is nowhere near what you can earn by answering Tellwut’s own surveys, but members may enjoy the brevity and added variety of member-generated questions.

create surveys on Tellwut

Chat with Other Members

Member-generated surveys have a comments section below them, allowing you to engage in a lively discussion about the topic, of which there are hundreds.

This essentially makes Tellwut more of a social media website, as much as a surveys website. You won’t earn any points for getting involved in community discussions, but many members appear to enjoy it and they are popular, nonetheless.

Member-generated surveys range from topics like hobbies, travel, politics, entertainment or simply curiosities. You can comment, reply to other people and up/down vote comments for a more “chili” experience.

Social Media Engagement

On Tellwut's various social media pages (namely Facebook), the company frequently posts opportunities for you to earn additional points. You’ll also learn about some of the more interesting results of Tellwut surveys on Instagram and Pinterest.

Customer service is offered via social media too. All in all, these are nice incentives to follow Tellwut on X and Facebook.

Prompt customer service

April 3, 2018 by Susan from United States

I want to say 5 stars for their customer service.
Amazon screwed up my gift card amount reporting it to be $50.00 when it was $25.00 This card was a reward from Tellwut.
When the Amazon gift code was entered it says: "Claim code locked. There was a problem redeeming this gift card." I talked to Amazon Chat to find out what needed to be done. He said since I didn't list Tellwut's address as my address and did not know the postal code that the e-card was a fraud and hung up on me.
I turned to Tellwut support and
In less than 24 hours I received a response from Tellwut and a new gift code,
"This confirms that your $25 Amazon.com Gift Card* (s) has been ordered and will be sent shortly."
Thanks again.

Slow loading

March 27, 2018 by Fred from United States

I signed up to try and test this site. The layout is nice, the survey/poll options are very nice. The problem is, at best, when the site is reloading at a normal pace you can only rack up about 300 points an hour. A minimum cash out is $10 for example an Amazon gift card. Now, at 300 pts an hour, to score 4000 points to cash out, this means it takes on a good day when the site works right... over 13 hours to earn $10. If you try to do external surveys, the rate of return is far far worse as you don't qualify for many or most, and this time loss makes those totally non viable.

At best, taking the short random 5 and 10 pt poll/surveys, when the site reloads quickly, 300-350 points an hour MAX is gaining a person only $10 for 13 hours of work. That is
77 cents an hour. There are other survey sites where I can make $5 an hour on a good day.

It has such a nice format and setup, I wish it paid out more and loaded properly. I can collect pop cans for more than 77 cents an hour and get sunshine and fresh air.

Telwat replied;
"Most of our members who participate everyday can get a $25 reward within a few short weeks."

At 77 cents an hour. Lets be optimistic and say on a good day, $1 an hour. Do you have any data on how long the average user who cashes out at $25 has taken on site to get to get 10k points? My math and time tests say between 30 and 35 hours.

If you know of a way one can clear $5 an hour in points on Tellwut.... please do tell me, because I don't see it.

Thanks for the quick and polite response, but I respectfully submit, your reply is little more than a C&P of every other reply you give here.

I have time tested the surveys using the quickie everyone qualifies 10 and 5 point surveys. The rate of point return with these is far faster than taking (trying to take) the externals, where you have to wait, click, qualify and then repeat until you hit one paying 75-150 points to finish. You can click off 50 points every 10 min this way. Externals and other ways are no where near that rate. So, at best, you can earn 300 points an hour.

That's 13 hours+ to gain $10. Would you work for this rate?

Hi Fred,

I guess we're not the community that you're looking for.
People also join our community for many other reasons as well, some of them being the communal aspect, to see what other's think and also to learn something new.

We apologize for the recent slowness (this isn't a regular occurrence), we're getting our developers to look into it.
Most of our members who participate everyday can get a $25 reward within a few short weeks.

If you're on other survey sites as you say you are, you may have a more difficult time successfully completing an external survey with us, as many sites post the same surveys.

On top of external surveys, we have tons of other ways to earn points on Tellwut

We have tons of ways to earn points on Tellwut - including instant qualifying surveys:

Have you checked out the area of our site where you can instantly qualify for surveys? You can find them in the 'Most Recent' section (everyone qualifies)
- We have our weekly 50 point newsletter sent out over the weekend (everyone qualifies)
- We have monthly promotional giveaways of gift cards, and higher point value surveys. (everyone qualifies)
- We have various giveaways and extra point earning opportunities on our social media pages – on Twitter we have $5 Amazon gift card give away, on Facebook we have a 500 point give away, and a 25 point weekly survey. (everyone qualifies for the 25 points)
- Lastly, every time you participate in an external survey (these surveys are higher in point value) from the Available Surveys page or e-mail, you are entered into a 4000 point weekly give away.
Not as good as it used to be

February 27, 2018 by Ann from United States

Update, August 25th. Tellwut, what happened? You used to be the best! Not only does it take forever for your pages to load because of the multitude of ads but I am lucky if I qualify for 1 out of 20 surveys I click on these days. The SSI surveys which seem to be prevalent on your site now are a complete waste of time. Pre-screen after pre-screen, 20-30 minutes later I do not even qualify. You may want to consider what other sites are offering, a couple of points granted for disqualification after situations like the one just mentioned. Your support team continues to be top-notch, professional, courteous and prompt, but frankly spending 2-3 hours without qualifying for a single survey is not worth my time. Please consider my and other recent comments about our experiences and make changes...before you lose us. Thank you.

Update: 2/26/18.
Now I am being denied access to community surveys because I do not successfully complete a survey once a month. Tellwut, I would love to complete surveys but can disqualified over and over, and like you who needs to make money, I do too. So instead of punishing us by denying us access to community surveys, how about being more member-friendly and asking to attempt to complete 5-10 surveys a month? It is obviously not my fault if I keep being disqualified. Don't risk losing a significant portion of your members because you are making it impossible for us.

Tellwut responded to this review on February 27, 2018

Hi Ann,

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear of your experience with SSI surveys. If you are disqualified from a particular survey after spending a prolonged amount of time in it, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] so that we can look into the issue and reward you with what you deserve.
We do offer additional points on Tellwut in an assortment of ways
In our Most Recent section – these are surveys that everyone qualifies for, we post a new batch of them everyday
We have our weekly 50 point newsletter sent out over the weekend
We have monthly promotional giveaways of gift cards, and higher point value surveys.
We have various giveaways and extra point earning opportunities on our social media pages – on Twitter we have $5 Amazon gift card give away, on Facebook we have a 500 point give away, and a 25 point weekly survey.
Lastly every time you participate in an external survey from the Available Surveys page or e-mail, you are entered into a 4000 point weekly give away.
As per above all of these additional points, in a way work like disqualification points.
It is not a viable business option for us to offer points simply for disqualifying as many would just abuse the system.
Lastly you mentioned that you use other sites, this also may be adding to why you disqualify some of the time, as you may have completed the same survey somewhere else first.
There could be many reasons for disqualification, we have a note about it in our FAQ section.
--------
Update response 2/26/18

Hi Ann

We do not generate any income from the user created surveys and it is not a viable business option for us to pay panel members in gift cards to take only the user created surveys.
In order to get full access to the user created surveys panel members must successfully complete at least 1 external survey within a 14 day period.
Unfortunately we do not get paid when our members attempt external surveys - we only get paid when they are successfully completed.
If you are a member of other survey sites - this may be why you are not qualifying, as you have done the survey first on another survey site. Although we can't say for certain as we have to look into your account to determine what the problem is.
Unfortunately we can't offer access to the user created surveys for people only attempting external surveys because we have found through trials that many people will simply terminate themselves on purpose.
However as we have mentioned above every time you attempt an external survey you are put into a weekly drawing for 4000 Tellwut points.
Avoid this site.

February 14, 2018 by Edward from United States

Every survey that I have attempted to take has either automatically disqualified me without a single question asked or told me it was over it's quota. Stay very far away.

Tellwut reply logo

Tellwut responded to this review on February 15, 2018

Hi Edward,

The majority of our members who sign in and participate everyday can get a reward within 2 to 3 weeks.

It sounds like you're referring to external surveys - Tellwut does not control or create those surveys.
If any of our panel members encounter problems with an external survey we encourage them to tell us by providing us with the survey ID so that we can look into the issue and give them the points that they deserve.

If you're over quota - and you've spent longer than 6 minutes in the survey, tell us so that we can give you the points. We have reports that we can verify the information that you're giving us with.

In your case where you're saying that you're instantly disqualified - There could be something wrong with your IP although we can't say for certain since we don't know who you are on Tellwut. Another possibility which is quite is that you did the same survey on a different survey site.

You should contact [email protected] so that we can help you determine what the problem is.

Very satisfied.

It appears that I am a thief . I guess I’m a thief because I use my WiFi at home and the WiFi at work.. their comment was that it was suspicious activity due to different ip addresses being used. I even sent a copy of my drivers license to prove my identity. All of this happened after I requested payment so that makes me wonder if I was ever going to get paid

Update: I was contacted by the tellwut website and they addressed my concerns very well and I no longer have any problems with them at all

Hi Mike,

In our last response to you on January 24 we asked you to type out your address in the body of the email. We did not receive a response from you. We will gladly send you your reward if you write us back at [email protected] with our request.

Your IP address showed you signing in from outside of the country which is why we took these precautionary steps. We ask for this information to protect your account and your rewards.
